Lush Cucumber Face Cream

Makes 1 1/2 cups

Cucumber Juice- See Video #TonorTalk ½ cup

Hyaluronic Acid ½ tsp into ⅓ cup cucumber juice

Vitamin C Powder ½ tsp into hyaluronic acid gel or 1 teaspoon of cucumber juice

Kojic Acid 1 teaspoon into 2 tablespoons of cucumber water and blend

Aloe Vera Powder 1 teaspoon into 3 tablespoons of cucumber juice and blend well

Shea Butter ½ cup - double broiler

Base Lotion ½ cup

Vegetable Glycerin 3 tablespoons

Geranium Essential Oil (Jade) 10 drops

Ginger Essential Oil (Jade) 10 drops

Turmeric Essential Oil (Jade) 10 drops

Coffee Bean Carrier Oil 2 pipettes or 2 tablespoons

Carrot Seed Carrier Oil 2 pipettes or 2 tablespoons

Pumpkin Seed Carrier Oil 2 pipettes or 2 tablespoons

Prickly Pear Cactus Carrier Oil 2 pipettes or 2 tablespoons

HOW TO MAKE LUSH CUCUMBER FACE CREAM:

  1. Make Cucumber Toner (set aside)

  2. Soak Hyaluronic Acid in water and make a gel (allow to soak about 1 hour 1st) mixing as you go along

  3. Add to the Hyaluronic Acid VIT C and allow to sit another 10 mins

  4. Add Kojic Acid to 2 tsp of cucumber water and blend, then add to hyaluronic gel and blend (you should have all the powders at this point added to the gel and sitting.

  5. Add 1 tsp of Aloe Vera Powder to 2 tablespoons of cucumber juice OR fresh Aloe Vera Gel 2 tablespoons)

  6. At this time put the Shea Butter ½ cup in a double broiler on the stove and allow to melt. Not recommended in the microwave.

  7. Take ½ cup of base lotion (this is a mix of nut butters with emulsifying wax to create a base lotion and allow the rest of the ingredients to blend together smoothly to create a moisturizer.

  8. Add all the oils (essential oils and carrier oils to your warm Shea butter) mix and keep warm. (if you have a serum you want to use instead you can add 5 pipettes of serum to this 1 cup of lotion) it may go over a bit but I make enough to do 1 cup and a small container.

  9. Add the glycerin to the shea butter oil blend.

  10. Add the base lotion to the warm shea butter and mix with spatula or hand blender (immerser may not work here the stiffer it gets.)

  11. Add the aloe vera to the hyaluronic gel and mix, then add the gel to the lotion and shea butter blend and mix well.

Extra Tips:

Mix each addition to another ingredient as you go along, don't add and let sit. You must blend to incorporate each oil each time.

Keep the shea butter warm, start it early otherwise it gets too hot and the properties will be diminished.

This recipe will take about an hour, give yourself time to do it, don't rush. Being off a little in the recipe won't hurt except do not use too much shea butter otherwise your moisturizer will harden. Do not add any additional water, each time you use cucumber juice and not water.

Do not buy store bought cucumber juice or non clinical oils. The links to the proper ingredients are linked in this recipe above. Just click on the ingredient name.
